Man threatens to punch CTV Montreal journalist
A man who was filmed shouting racist insults at a Montreal family threatened to punch CTV Montreal journalist Stéphane Giroux, who was reporting on the story.
After interviewing the family, Giroux drove through the neighbourhood, hoping to find the man, who neighbours said often walked nearby. Giroux found the man in a nearby street, and, while filming, approached him for an interview, reported CTV.
After speaking with Giroux briefly, the man began yelling, Giroux said. A CTV video shows the man then walking away before returning and approaching Giroux with his fist clenched, threatening to punch him and shouting.
In Nov. 2022, the man was charged with assaulting and threatening Giroux, and with causing a disturbance in relation to the incident involving the family.
