In a video of the incident, protesters can be seen surrounding Nicholson and the videographer and shouting.
CBC cut Nicholson’s live report as protesters swarmed the camera. “You guys should be ashamed of yourselves,” one protester can be heard yelling. Another appears to look at the CBC videographer and say “Yeah, go. Run. You better go,” as the team starts to pack up their gear.
