An RCMP officer falsely claimed in an affidavit that journalist Brandi Morin had lied to police while on assignment covering protests at Fairy Creek.

Angelo Scaia, a photojournalist on assignment for Ricochet Media, was assaulted during a blockade of an industrial lot near Lake Cowichan on June 25, 2021.

The RCMP arrested and removed a protester during demonstrations against old-growth logging in the forest near Fairy Creek, B.C., after telling journalists to leave the area and that enforcement had ended for the day.
