Liberal party denies media accreditation to True North

The Liberal Party of Canada denied Andrew Lawton, managing editor of far-right website True North, accreditation to cover its 2023 caucus retreat in London, Ont. 

After the party never responded to his request for accreditation, he showed up at the caucus retreat media registration desk on Sept. 12, 2023. A party aide told him that he was not accredited, and that registration was closed, Lawton said on Twitter (currently called X). 

“I spoke to someone from the Liberal whip’s office who reiterated that I was not accredited but refused to offer a rationale or the name of the decision-maker,” Lawton added.
