Edmonton police denied access to journalists covering the forced eviction of people living in a homeless encampment in Dawson Park, near central Edmonton.
Lauren Boothby, a journalist at the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun, said that police officers kept media workers behind a barricade, and refused to allow her to access the encampment area, saying it was an “active work site.”
“It made it difficult to do my job and see everything that was going on, to interview people being evicted,” Boothby said on Twitter.
