Student journalists for Toronto Metropolitan University’s On The Record News were denied access to the Ontario Progressive Conservative party’s election night event in Etobicoke, Ont.
A campaign staffer approached On The Record journalist Amber Ranson and a camera operator and asked who they had voted for; when they declined to answer, the staffer asked the team to leave.
A video shared by On The Record shows Ranson outside the event, alongside a group of student journalists from Humber College who were also denied access.
